Designed as a unique personal gift—especially for men—these merino wool felt insoles are handmade in South Africa through a felting project that supports local artisans. As part of our personal care and gifting line, they’ve gained a loyal following of customers who buy them for themselves and others year after year. Men are often overlooked in the personal gifting space, especially when it comes to practical, sustainable items. I identified a need for a high-quality gift that was gender-neutral, eco-conscious, and useful year-round. The insoles offered a way to meet that need while adding depth to our personal care range and providing employment through a skilled, low-tech production method.

I designed the insoles to be both luxurious and functional, using natural merino wool for warmth, breathability, and durability. I worked closely with a felting group to refine the process—from shaping to thickness—ensuring each pair met our quality standards. We supported the launch with styled photo shoots and a simple video guide to help customers cut their perfect fit at home.
